Fulfillment (99%) Complete!
Besides just a few stragglers and weird situations, we are now complete fulfilling over TWO THOUSAND Gudnak pledges around the world. That means there are so many of you with the ability to wage square card based war in the dying world of Gudnak.
If you're looking for a group, join the Discord and add yourself to the Player Finder. Send a message to someone nearby! You might just make yourself a friend! Imagine, years from now, when you are giving the speech at said friend's wedding you will say "I made this friend because of Nak." And at that point, their future in-laws will know their kid made the right choice.
Wow thats a touching story.
Back in stock!
We are now officially back in stock at Team Covenant, our online retail partner. If you have a friend (or foe!) waiting for Nak, send them there.
GAMA
We have just returned from GAMA Expo where we officially introduced Gudnak to our new Retail Partners. To say it was an absolute, smash success would be to accurately describe it, because it was an absolute smash success.
Pictured above were the Nak bags we gave out to reviewers. They contained our new free demo decks that will soon be in stores near you!
We also ate Louisville style pizza. We're unsure what Louisville style is, but we ate it.
If you have a retailer near you that you think would make a good Nak partner, have them apply here. You might want to read the next section first, however!
Nak Pak
So we’re making it official.
We’re launching the Gudnak Retail Ambassador Program, and it’s called the Nak Pak. If you love showing people Gudnak, we’d love to have you join. But only if you are both brave and strong.
Here’s how it works:
• Apply to join the Nak Pak • Talk to your local game store about carrying Gudnak • If a store signs up through you, we’ll ship you an exclusive Nak Pak BakPak loaded with Gudnak gear
Help us bring Gudnak to a new store and we’ll send you an exclusive backpack worthy of your honorable deeds. This is just the beginning. Nak Pak members will also get opportunities to help shape organized play and events in their area. They are my best friends.
Gudnak has always been about community and the Nak Pak is our way of putting the most passionate players at the center of that mission.
The Nak Pak rides at dawn?
What‘s Next for Nak?
We have a lot in store this year besides now being in stores. You will hear from us soon about the following:
This years' convention exclusive foil (it SLAPS)
Inpsired-by-you retail organized play program
Our next expansion - the Guilds of Zarrukh
Gudnak Digital
An online store for accessories like binders and deck boxes
Hardcover book fulfillment
So many more things…
[January Update] Ever closer!

The Waiting Game
We did it! We won the prize for "Most Patient Good Boys and Girls Who Waited Patiently and Didn't Scream More Than Twice"
But…we're getting ever closer to playing the actual game all spent your hard earned dollars on.
Here's the by-region status!
Asia Orders have been packed and are expected to ship to the local distribution hubs for each country shortly! Chinese New Year will likely affect fulfillment, so expect a quiet February and deliveries starting March 1.
Australia Expecting to begin fulfillment later this week!
United States / Canada Gudnak is at the port and is expected to be delivered to our distributor this week!
UK/EU Ship is expected to reach port on Sunday, Feb 1.
What We've Been Up To
New Crowdfunding Approach!
The Reckless Overtuner, a tinkerer for whom explosions are a feature, not a bug.
We learned a lot in 2025, including:
1. Its hard to predict things (or Ian is just really bad at it) 2. Ships are slow 3. We have so much more Gudnak to make!
So we're moving forward on our next two projects which will be printed before crowdfunding. We love the ability to Kickstarter to create a "moment" where we all collectively get excited about Gudnak, scramble to meet goals and shout loudly at passersby about the superiority of square cards.
But we hate the waiting.
So our next campaign(s) will be pre-printed. That will mean that, barring the campaign exceeding the print run, we will know exactly when your Gudnak will ship.
Digital!
We've been making We have hired a new Head of Digital - Pete Davids! Even more exciting, Pete has onboarded two new developers who are making incredible progress on Gudnak's digital implementation.
Here's a quick Pete background for your phone from a recent meeting we had:
Pete and team plan to bring a fully playable single player mode at PAX East with most of the core set cards implemented. Check the #digital-updates channel in Discord.
Office and Streaming Studio!
Chaotic Great is moving homes! From our closet office where we filmed the last kickstarter video to a full home! You'll see lots of content from us as we document the journey of moving into our new space and set up a studio for gameplay streams.
It's always been our goal to provide as much Gudnak gameplay content as possible and having a dedicated space that isn't my basement will help so much.
You can't imagine how much room having a life sized Everking and Paladin sword in your home gets in the way.
Want to join us on the journey? Visit the studio in person? Toilet paper Ian's car on Halloween? Join the discord and follow along.
New Merch!
We've committed hard to bright pink merch. If you want to look equally as pink, we just launched a sick new pink hoodie. It's pink!
Impatiently yours,
Tim

Booster Box updates
– Tue, Nov 18, 2025 at 10:40:38 AM
Good 'nak, everyone! This is Ian, aka Not Tim, aka The Better Speller, aka the Ian to Tim's Tim. I have the great honor and slight dishonor of sending this update on our booster box product.
Omg look at it it's so coooooooool!!!
The good news
These things are printed! The cards look amazing! You get a sneak peek at some right now! And they're getting closer and closer to fulfilling! (hopefully a more exact date range in the next email)
The less-good news
It isn't exactly what we envisioned. The boxes are random and won't repeat cards, so that's good. But there's less faction variety within a couple of the rarity slots because of how they're collated. Functionally what this means is that you're likely to see the same faction in rarity slots that contain more than 1 card, most noticeably in the Common slot of 4 Basics. ie. If your 1st Common is a Shardsworn, the next 3 are likely to be Shardsworn as well. Not always, but often. Let's see a visual example.
I think about half of these are tied for my favorite. You?
This is all 24 packs of a box with the rarest card from each pack on top. Zero repeats, yay! An Exalted, yay! Lots of shiny things, yay! I'm going to be playing a lot of Protean decks and Gloaming decks in the future, yay! (as if I wasn't going to be anyway)
Can't draw a straight line, can't make a straight line of cards...
Here are 6 random packs spread out to highlight what I mean above. You can see that the 3 and 4 slot often have cards from the same faction, but the most noticeable bit is the 7-10 slots, which are all a consistent faction in 4 of these packs, and 50/50 of 2 factions in 2 of these packs. There are repeated types and powers, but no repeated art. And even when a card is in multiple packs in a box, it will typically be a different treatment (in this case, the Demo Experts in Elven Trapper appear in 2 packs each, but are standard in one, rainbow holo in the other).
What this means for Collectors
You should have all the anticipated randomness and rarity %s you're looking for per box. But as you're opening packs one card at a time, the Common slots will be more predictable after you see the 1st slot. Basics would have been the most boring part of the pack anyway, now they're even more so.
What this means for Drafters
Trait and faction synergies might be slightly easier to game or plan for. For example, you crack your 1st pack and you get a Rare Brute Force, and 3 of your Commons are Delguon Brutes. You now know there's a certain level of synergy in the card pool and your opponent's do not, and it could also impact what factions you start building your deck around. Your friend passes you a pack with a Forgefather in it and now you're feeling slightly evil about it. We would have preferred even less predictability/ability to memorize the pool, but we're optimistic that it will still be chaotic and surprising and incredibly fun. And a big plus is that Valkyrie and Master of the Hunt are not in this card pool. 😅
All in all
We could have pushed to reprint and/or manually shuffle rarity pools (with some risk of card damage, plus more delays), but we believe the best thing to do for y'all is to march forward, own that there are some unanticipated wrinkles (not literal ones), and learn from it so we can do even better next time. If we believed that this would badly hurt your experience as collectors or drafters, we would take whatever time/money/annoyance hit necessary for y'all, but we believe this is the right path forward. Thanks for bearing with us on this journey as we navigate tariffs and production challenges and releasing our first new type of product. We couldn't do it without y'all and the continued hype and enthusiasm means more than you know!

[November Update] Ships, Shards, and Singers
5 months ago
– Mon, Nov 10, 2025 at 05:18:41 AM
Our product is (mostly) still at the factory. Packs are packed, pallets are palleted, but we haven’t gotten the go ahead on a ship leaving port. That’s the whole story and it still is the worst.
We're cutting comic books from this Kickstarter to speed up fulfillment. This was a tough one, but cutting comic books is speeding up our timeline. We're sorry about this. You can still read the comics digitally here.
You'll be able to update your address when they are ready to head to your door. Right now your addresses are with the final leg fulfillment company in your region (Quartermaster Logistics & Zatu Games). We can't change addresses, but they have a failsafe in place for delays like we're experiencing. Unless you move regions you will have an opportunity to confirm your address when the games are about to leave the warehouse. We'll also send a notification here.
Sorry for all of the delays. We're doing what we can to make things happen expeditiously, but it's all going slower than we'd hoped!
Now for some fun stuff!
Quality control checks on Exalted Foils!
Reports of Suspicious Singers at Unplugged!
We're excited that a group of villagers are showing up to perform at PAX Unplugged, but why do they look so nefarious?
The villagers you will see performing on Saturday & Sunday at PAX Unplugged at 1pm and 2pm in masks and maroon dresses probably aren’t the Marvorren. That would be too crazy of a coincidence.
You should just listen to their songs and do whatever they say. Maybe wear a swimsuit, just in case.
Speaking of singing
Shard Soldiers Swoop Sideways
The Shardsworn are sick of those merfakes stealing the spotlight. And in this expansion, its the orcs who are taking over the alliance. You see elves are cool and all, but the aren't so good at wielding unstable shard mauls.
Those mauls are best left in the hands of some ripped-out-of-their-minds-angry-as-all-heck-never-sit-down-on-the-job-oh-wait-this-one-is-sitting orcs like the WARCHIEF
The Warchief really likes attacking soldiers. So much so that he will even attack friendly soldiers with his assert dominance ability. Combined with his signature weapon, this dude can easily clear an opponent's board, especially if your opponent has any soldiers lying around.
"But wait Tim, what if my opponent is playing some hunter/brute nonsense deck thats dumb and that I hate?"
Great question! And if you happen to know latin, you'll know what this next card's name is - thats right is ORCISH VEXILLUM
Oh snap. This thing changes the game and makes the game a different game. The new game is called "run and hide my opponent has an orc warchief thats carrying a very dangerous looking rock attached to a stick."
But let's not forget that our orcs aren't just about dangerous rocks attached to sticks. You see some orcs are wily and know that if two people fight one person/dragon/everking, it can even up the odds. Those orcs are called Orc Veteran.
Are those gloaming skulls I see attached to your waistband? Yes? Are we best friends? Yes!!!!!
By our calculation, with Orc Veteran on the field carrying his Orcish Vexillum, its possible to have any fighter you control get +50 power every time they attack. We haven't checked the math, trust us on this one.
